Craft With Intention. Build With Mastery.
This course is for experienced woodworkers ready to refine their skills, deepen their understanding, and take on a project that challenges both technique and mindset.
In this advanced project-based class, you’ll build a classic Shaker-style candlestick table—a deceptively elegant piece that will stretch your capabilities in layout, joinery, turning, and fine detail work.
You’ll Learn:
-
How to read and interpret professional plans and shop drawings
-
Techniques for safely and accurately cutting round tops and curved components
-
Lathe work for shaping the center pedestal
-
How to execute precision sliding dovetails
-
Construction of an optional dovetailed drawer
-
Optional veneering techniques for an elevated tabletop finish
Throughout the process, you’ll gain not just new skills, but new insight—into how fine furniture is designed, engineered, and executed with care.
This class isn’t just the next step in woodworking—it’s a turning point. One that sets the stage for your next big leap: The Capstone Project, where you’ll design and build a piece of your own choosing, guided by mentorship and feedback.
If you’re ready to take full ownership of your work and begin building with both technique and vision, this is where it starts.
Prerequisite: Intermediate Woodworking or instructor approval. Additional Material Costs.
Class meets on Wednesdays for 6 weeks, from 5:30 pm – 8PM
Members: $400
Non-Members: $500
There will be a material fee payable during the class.
