What you’ll learn

Discover the art and rhythm of woodturning in this beginner-friendly class. Over a single weekend, you’ll gain hands-on experience at the lathe, learning essential skills in both spindle and bowl turning.

You’ll learn:

  • Mounting work safely between centers and on a chuck
  • Reading grain direction and how it changes the cut
  • Spindle turning — beads, coves, and clean transitions
  • Bowl turning fundamentals
  • Tool control, presentation, and sharpening basics
  • Sanding and finishing on the lathe

Who it’s for

Complete beginners. No prior turning experience required — we start with how to stand at the lathe. The class is capped at four so everyone gets real time on a machine.
