Make a
Whiskey Cabinet
Build a cherry wall-mounted whiskey cabinet with a custom laser-cut marquetry door panel.
What you’ll learn
This is a step-up project for students who’ve completed the Intro to Woodworking class. You’ll build a beautiful cherry wall-mounted whiskey cabinet featuring a paneled door with your own custom laser-cut marquetry design — a true showpiece that combines several intermediate techniques.
You’ll learn:
- Festool Domino joinery system
- Dado joints for shelves and dividers
- Frame and panel door assembly
- Laser-cut marquetry — design and apply your own custom panel
- Installing hinges and hardware
- Interior shelf and divider layout
- French cleat construction for wall mounting
Important: This class requires significant shop time outside of class sessions. Students must have completed the Intro to Woodworking class and have access to shop tools to complete their project between sessions.

Who it’s for
Students who’ve completed the Intro to Woodworking class. This is a prerequisite — not a suggestion. You’ll need to be comfortable with the table saw, jointer, planer, and basic hand tools. You’ll also need an active shop membership or access to comparable tools to complete work between class sessions.

- All tools and equipment
