What you’ll learn

This is The Joinery’s signature class — and the best way to start your woodworking journey. Over the course of the class, you’ll build a beautiful Shaker-style end table from raw lumber to a finished piece you’ll be proud to bring home.

Along the way, you’ll learn:

• How to read plans and lay out a project
• Milling rough lumber — jointing, planing, and cutting to size
• Mortise and tenon joinery
• Safe operation of table saw, jointer, planer, drill press, and band saw
• Hand tool techniques — chisels, hand planes, and marking tools
• Glue-up, clamping, and assembly
• Sanding and finishing

Who it’s for

Complete beginners. You don’t need to know anything about woodworking — we teach everything from scratch. This class is also great for people who’ve dabbled but want a proper foundation in tools and techniques.
