What you’ll learn

Over six evenings you’ll take a stained glass panel all the way from a drawing on paper to a finished window — up to 12″ × 18″ and as many as 30 pieces of glass. This is the Tiffany copper foil method: every piece cut, ground, wrapped, and soldered by hand.

You’ll learn:

• Designing a pattern that will actually cut — and adapting one you already like
• Scoring and breaking glass to straight lines, curves, and inside cuts
• Grinding and fitting pieces so the panel comes together tight
• Wrapping edges in copper foil and burnishing them down
• Soldering clean, rounded beads on both faces
• Applying patina and finishing the panel for hanging

Who it’s for

Complete beginners. No glass experience and no woodworking experience needed — this one stands on its own. Bring some ideas and enthusiasm to the first session: we can work from an existing pattern, or turn your own idea into a workable stained glass window. The class is capped at six students.
