Membership Agreement

The Joinery, LLC

This Membership Agreement (the “Agreement”) is entered into between The Joinery, LLC (hereinafter “Host”) and you, the member identified at signup (hereinafter “Guest”). The Agreement is effective on the date of your signup and shall continue until terminated by either party.

Benefits

The Joinery is a shared shop facility where you can make connections with others who share your love of creating and working at your own pace. The facility offers access to high-quality tools and the latest technology to enhance your projects. Classes are available in both projects and techniques — learn new skills from a qualified craftsman or take on a new project by learning with others.

Membership gives the Guest access to 8508 Fairway Pl, Middleton, WI 53562, and use of the quality tools and the latest technology located at that location. The benefit of becoming a member is access to high-quality tools and technology to use; however, unless otherwise agreed to in writing between Host and Guest, this Membership Agreement is not a contract where Host promises to provide specific tools and/or technology.

Dues

Membership dues vary by membership level (currently $95.00 per month for The Joinery Membership). Dues must be paid prior to using any of the tools or working on any project at the Host’s location. Dues are billed in advance and renew automatically each billing period until cancelled, as described under Cancellation & Refunds below.

Billing period. Memberships are billed monthly by default. A quarterly billing option is also available for members who would rather pay once every three months. Quarterly billing is entirely optional — it is not a required commitment and carries no additional benefit; monthly is the standard. If you choose quarterly billing, every term below applies to your three-month billing period in place of the month.

Cancellation & Refunds

Membership renews automatically at the end of each billing period and continues until you cancel it. There is no minimum contract — you may cancel at any time.

How to cancel

Cancel from your member account at thejoinery.club/account. That is the only way to cancel. We cannot process a cancellation by email, phone, text, or in person — if you ask us that way we will point you back to your account, so that it is recorded correctly and you are not charged again by mistake.

Timing — give us five days

Cancel at least five (5) days before your renewal date. Payments are queued and processed ahead of the renewal date, and a cancellation entered inside that window will not stop a charge that is already in motion.

What cancelling does

Cancelling stops your next renewal. It does not undo a payment that has already been made.

  • You keep full shop access through the end of the billing period you have already paid for.
  • Dues are non-refundable, and partial periods are not prorated.
  • If your membership has already renewed, cancelling now ends your membership at the close of that paid period — it does not refund it.

We want to be plain about that last point, because it is the situation that comes up most: if the renewal has already processed, we are not able to reverse it. You will have the full period you paid for, and you will not be billed again after that.

On quarterly billing this matters more, because the period is three months rather than one. A quarterly membership cancelled after it has renewed runs to the end of that three-month period and is not refunded or prorated. If you are unsure how long you will be staying, monthly billing is the safer choice.

Holds

A hold is a temporary pause on an active membership, available in a narrow set of health, family, and career situations. For most members who are stepping away for a while, cancelling and rejoining is simpler. See the Membership Hold Policy.

Rejoining

There is no penalty for cancelling and no fee to rejoin. Your account and your completed safety training stay on file.

Classes

Classes are purchased separately from membership and are governed by the Class Attendance, Rescheduling & Refunds policy. In short: cancel at least 7 days before the first session for a full refund or a transfer into a later cohort.

Liability

Prior to working on any project at the location and/or using the Host’s tools, the Guest shall sign the Assumption of Risk, Waiver and Release of Liability form and shall complete the Shop Safety & Orientation course. The course is online and self-paced; shop access is granted after it is completed.

By becoming a member, you acknowledge that you have read this Membership Agreement and agree to its terms, and that you will sign the Waiver & Release of Liability before using any equipment at The Joinery.
