Class Attendance, Rescheduling & Refunds

Class Attendance, Rescheduling & Refunds #

Most of our multi-session classes are built around a group working toward the same goal on the same timeline. Each session builds on the one before it, and the group moves together. That structure is what makes the classes work — and it is also why missing a session is harder to absorb than it might seem.

Book a class you can attend in full #

Before you register, look at the dates for every session, not just the first one. If you already know you will miss one, the better choice is almost always to wait and book a cohort you can attend start to finish. You will get more out of the class, and so will the people sitting next to you.

Cancelling or rescheduling — the 7-day rule #

Cancel at least 7 days before the first session and you can choose either a full refund or a transfer into a later cohort of the same class. Just email us and tell us which you would like.

Inside of 7 days we are not able to refund the class. By that point materials have been ordered, the instructor is scheduled, and the seat has been held off the schedule too long to fill it. If something comes up in that window, tell us anyway — we will try to move you into a future cohort if there is room, but we cannot promise a seat.

If we cancel a class — low enrollment, weather, an instructor emergency — you always get the choice of a full refund or a transfer into the next cohort.

If you miss a session #

We will usually find a way to get you caught up. But catching up happens outside of class — it takes an instructor one-on-one, outside the hours they were scheduled to teach. Because of that, a make-up session may carry an additional fee. We will tell you what that looks like before anything is scheduled or charged; you will never be surprised by it.

Some material cannot reasonably be made up. If missing a session puts you too far behind to finish the project, we may recommend moving you into a later cohort instead of trying to catch you up.

Health and family situations #

Life happens. If you miss a session because of illness, injury, or a family emergency, just tell us. We will work with you, and there is no make-up fee for it.

Let us know early #

Email joinery@thejoinery.club as soon as you know you will miss a session or need to cancel. The earlier we hear from you, the more options we have — and sometimes we can move you to another cohort before the class even starts.
