Process for Purchasing Supplies at The Joinery #

As our membership continues to grow, so does the utilization of our tools and supplies. To ensure we maintain our resources and provide a quality experience for all members, we are implementing a new process for purchasing supplies. This process will help manage the increased wear and tear on our tools and ensure everyone has access to necessary materials.

Overview of Changes #

•Introduction of Supply Fees: The Joinery will now provide essential supplies, such as glue and sandpaper, for a small fee. This adjustment aligns us with other maker spaces and shared shops.

•Supply Location: All supplies available for purchase will be located in the drawer cabinet by the loft stairs.

•Payment Process: Members can make self serve purchases through the member store on https://thejoinery.club.  Once logged in as a member, click “Store” in the Top Menu.

Step-by-Step Purchasing Process #

1.Select Supplies:

▪Visit the drawer cabinet located by the loft stairs.

▪Choose the supplies you need (e.g., glue, sandpaper).

2.Log Your Purchase:

▪Use the Member Store at https://thejoinery.club

  • Log in with your member creditials created when you joined.
  • Click on the “Store” button on the main site menue
  • Find the item you with to purchase, select option if required and quantity.
  • Then continue to the cart and complete your purchase.

4.Lumber Purchases: #

▪Follow the same process as above.

For option, select the thickness if required

For Qty, use the number written on the piece of wood — including the decimal. If you are buying more than one board, add them together and enter the total. Example: Board one has 5.4 written on it and board two has 6.3 written on it. Add the two together and enter 11.7. Do not round.

Important Notes #

•Members are always welcome to bring in their own materials or purchase supplies directly from The Joinery.

•This new supply process aims to help defer costs associated with tool repairs and maintenance, which have increased due to operator error and normal wear and tear.

Thank you for your continued support and cooperation as we enhance our community and resources at The Joinery!
