What’s Happening at The Joinery: Week of May 5–11
Hey folks, Steven here at The Joinery—just kicking off a new weekly update to keep you in the loop on what’s happening around the shop. Whether you’re planning your next project or just want to drop by and say hi, here’s what’s on the calendar for the week ahead:
📅 Tuesday, May 6 – Member Meetup (6–8 PM)
Our monthly Member Meetup is back! These evenings have been a great way to connect with fellow woodworkers, share what we’ve been working on, and chat about all things Joinery. I’ll be sharing a few things I picked up in a recent class—and if you want a quick demo of a tool or technique, this is a great time to ask. It’s casual, it’s fun, and we’d love to see you there.
🪚 Thursday, May 8 – Intro to Woodworking Class + Horizon High School Shop Time
The Intro to Woodworking class continues Thursday evening, so the shop will be buzzing with newcomers getting their feet wet on the tools. Earlier in the day, Horizon High School students will be in the shop for their regular morning and afternoon sessions—just a heads-up if you’re planning to work during that time.
🏡 Saturday, May 10 – Open House (11 AM – 2 PM)
Invite your friends, show off your favorite tool, or just come hang out—our Open House is a great time to introduce someone new to The Joinery. Whether they’re curious about woodworking or ready to dive in, it’s the perfect low-key way to check out the space.
🌷 Sunday, May 11 – Mother’s Day Reminder
Still thinking about a handmade gift? You’ve got a week left to make something special. Come in, get inspired, and let’s make something mom-worthy.
We’re excited to keep this weekly rhythm going, so check back here every Friday for updates. And as always, if you’re curious about classes, tools, or membership, swing by thejoinery.club or stop in during Open House hours—we’re happy to show you around.
See you in the shop!
– Steven
