We’ve just launched a brand-new Project Plan Directory on our website, and it’s built with you in mind. Whether you’re just starting out, ready to stretch your skills, or looking for your next advanced challenge, this is your one-stop spot for woodworking project ideas and step-by-step plans.
What You’ll Find in the Project Plan Directory
We’re kicking things off with 30 curated plans, organized by skill level:
- ✅ 10 beginner-friendly builds to help you build confidence with tools and techniques
- 🔧 10 intermediate projects for folks who’ve got a few builds under their belt
- 🪚 10 advanced plans that will challenge your skills and reward your patience
These aren’t just pretty pictures either — they’re real project ideas with instructions, links, and tips to help you get started. Most are free or low-cost, and all have been vetted for quality and clarity.
But this is just the beginning.
We’ll be adding more plans regularly, including some from members right here at The Joinery. If you’ve built something you’re proud of — whether it’s a classic design or something totally your own — we’d love to add it to the directory. It’s a great way to inspire others and show what’s possible in our space.

While you’re exploring the website, be sure to try out Woody, our new ChatBot available right on the site. Woody’s trained to answer woodworking questions, explain tools, help troubleshoot issues in the shop, and even offer advice on which plan might suit your current skill level.
Here’s a few ways you might use Woody:
