Paint

Even though we took a break this weekend, we actually got a lot done. We hired a professional to do the tape and bedding on the dry wall and they did an excellent job. It was all done by Thursday, so we took Friday off from our day jobs and bought all the wall finishes and painted both the new rooms. I think it really turned out well.

Saturday was a day off for fun with the family and a little rest. Sunday saw us back at it after church, starting with a run to the dump. The rest of the day was spent hooking up the gas and vent piping to the fire place. We finished the day by starting a fire to make sure everything was working properly.

Next up will be creating the stone wall on the fireplace. We chose and bought the materials on Friday and it looks to be an easy task. We have a lot of evening events this week, so it will probably be next weekend before I can take this on.

Lots of progress, loving it!

The first Christmas that my wife and I spent together 26 years ago was a special one for many reasons, but one unusual one that stands out is that it was the first time that someone gave me a tool. That tool was a Craftsman portable air compressor. That air compressor continues to work to this day. Several years ago, I needed something with a little more “power,” so I purchased a Central Pneumatic from Harbor Freight. Between the two, over the last few years, I have had the power and portability that I have needed.

  • Wild Wall Cabinet

I just completed a project I had been wanting to do for a while. A simple wall cabinet that shows off some of the marquetry that I do and also used the laser. I have always been drawn to the simplicity of Shaker-style furniture. Although I like the simplicity, I think a few additions of some marquetry is excellent. Not too much, but enough to elevate the piece just a little.
