What’s Happening This Week at The Joinery (July 7–13)

Hey everyone, Steven here with your weekly update from The Joinery.

It’s the Fourth of July weekend, and I hope you’re enjoying the extra time off—maybe even spending a little of it in the shop. Things are quieter than usual, which makes it a great time to tackle a project or two. Plus, it’s finally cool in here! Thanks to our landlord John Malloy, the brand-new air conditioning system is up and running, and the shop feels great.

Looking ahead to next week, there’s quite a bit going on:

  • Intro to Woodworking (Five-Week Class) Kicks off this Thursday, July 11, from 5:30 to 7:30 PM. If you’re new to the craft or know someone who is, this class is a fantastic starting point.
  • Intro to Woodworking Weekend Intensive Happening July 12 & 13, this condensed version covers the same material as the five-week course—great for folks who want to dive in all at once.
  • Open House – Saturday, July 12 , 11 to 2 PM Bring a friend or family member and show them what The Joinery is all about. We’ll have plenty of activity happening in the shop, and it’s a great chance to check things out—whether you’re a visitor or a curious future member.

On top of that, I’ve got some new content rolling out soon:

  • Blog Articles A couple new posts are coming your way with practical tips and insights you can use right away in your own woodworking.
  • A Podcast Is Coming! I’m launching a new podcast focused on woodworking ideas, questions, and conversations. I’ve committed to at least 10 episodes to start—just a fun, low-key way to explore what we love about this craft.
  • More Videos Keep an eye out for fresh instructional content. We’ve got a few pieces already in the works and nearly ready to go live.

Finally, if you’re not getting your Sunday morning emails from me, be sure to check your spam or junk folder. Those go out every week and are one of the best ways to stay in the loop.

That’s all for now. Stay safe, stay cool, and get out there and make something.

—Steven
