We made lot’s of progress on the basement remodel last weekend.   Electrical rough in was complete for all outlets, dimmers and lights.   We also put in the wiring for the surround sound speakers and the low voltage LED lighting.   With a lot of help from some good friends all this work was complete before noon.

Next, we spray foamed the out site walls.   My biggest challenge on this was getting both the product and the cement walls up to temperature.   The walls were about 53 degrees and they needed to be above 65 according to the instructions to get good adherence.   The canisters for the product were also around 50 degrees.   So, we turned up the heat to the house and closed as menu of the vents upstairs as we could.   We also used a heat lamp to warm up the product.   Within an hour the product was up to 75 degrees and the walls to about 63. Good enough!

After getting all suited up and the rig set up we went to work spraying the walls.   It went on very easy and was also very easy to control.   Again, the process went very quick and we also had just the right amount of material.  It sets up very quickly and made a good seal on the concrete.   I am very pleased with the outcome and I believe we will get the results we were hoping for with water tightness and insulation.

A day after installation everything still looks good and the wall temperature is staying constant at 64 degrees.   This 10 degrees warmer then before the insulation was installed.
