What I Want!
I have always wanted to journal (they call it blogging these days), but it never really stuck. I wasn’t sure who or why I was doing it. I do like going back on occasion and seeing what I wrote during a past time. As I am getting older, there are many obstacles and life lessons that have molded the way I think and react to various situations. I have developed habits and rituals over time. I would love to go back in time and figure out how I got to this point. What events and interactions have shaped my way of life today. I would also like my sons to have the benefit of these lessons. Instead of just being the parent saying “do this, don’t do that”, or being that old man telling the same story over and over again, I want to record as many of these lessons, events, challenges and celebrations as I can as sort of a record of my life.
Additionally, as I move into the next stage of my life, I still have big plans and big goals. There is still a lot to learn. So as I go forward I will be documenting as much of these lessons as I can and hopefully there will be a little nugget of information that someone can use.
The goal now is to make this fit into my life, so that it becomes second nature. To get started I have created some ground rules for myself.
