Introducing The Joinery Path: Your Journey, Your Points, Your Rewards

We’ve been quietly building something that will make your time at The Joinery even more engaging, rewarding, and—most importantly—tailored to your growth as a maker. It’s here. It’s ready. And it’s about to change how you track your progress, connect with the community, and celebrate your achievements.

We’re calling it The Joinery Path—a points-based system that turns everything you do here into tangible progress.

Why We’re Doing This

The Joinery Path isn’t just about numbers on a scoreboard. It’s about:
– Confidence – making your growth visible, so you know you’re moving forward.
– Community – encouraging members to pitch in, share skills, and support one another.
– Momentum – giving you small wins that add up to real progress.
– Fun – adding a layer of friendly recognition and rewards along the way.

This is our way of helping every member feel successful, whether you’re building your first cutting board or your tenth rocking chair.

How It Works

You earn points for almost everything you do:
– Core activities like registration, orientation, and woodworking classes
– Projects from beginner to advanced
– Service contributions like helping out at events, mentoring new members, or pitching in on shop improvements

The more you participate, the more points you rack up—and the closer you get to hitting milestone levels.

Milestone Levels

As your points add up, you’ll reach milestones that mark your journey:

– Apprentice – 200 points
– Journeyworker – 450 points
– Artisan – 800 points
– Craftsperson – 1,200 points

Each milestone comes with its own set of bragging rights and rewards—think shop swag, member spotlights, discounts, and even free project classes.

What You Can Earn

This isn’t just about recognition (though that feels great). You’ll also unlock:
– Training vouchers
– Exclusive member discounts
– Free classes
– Tools and project kits
– Public recognition in the shop and online

Flexibility and Fairness

Life happens, skills vary, and we get it. That’s why:
– Core classes can be substituted through an equivalency track
– Service points are capped monthly, so one person can’t scoop them all
– Points never expire—once you earn them, they’re yours for good

Your Next Step

Start earning points now. Complete a project, join a class, help out at a workday—whatever sparks your interest. Check your points regularly (we’ll use the Club Express app to track them), and watch your progress along The Joinery Path.

The tools are here. The projects are here. The rewards are waiting.

Find all the information here in our Policy Document. There are still some details being worked on, but we wanted to get this in your hands to start down the Path.
