New Tools, Upcoming Classes, and a Dash of Shop Humor

Hey everyone — Steven here at The Joinery! I wanted to give you a quick update from the classroom, where we’ve just added a fantastic new tool to our lineup: the Tormek knife and blade sharpening system, generously provided by our friends over at SharpeningSupplies.com. They made us a great deal on it, and even better — they’ll be offering training sessions on how to use it soon. Stay tuned for more details on that.

What’s Coming Up

Things are pretty quiet during the week, but we’ve got some great opportunities on the horizon:

  • Intro to Woodworking – June 21 & 22This weekend class is perfect for beginners or anyone looking to build a solid foundation in woodworking. If you’ve been waiting to dive in, this is your chance!
  • Bandsaw Box Class – Saturday, June 28This one’s a single Saturday morning, low cost, and great for all skill levels. If you’ve never made a bandsaw box, you’re in for a treat — they’re fun, creative, and a great way to stretch your skills. Right now, we’ve got spots open, so tell your friends and come join us!

New: The 

Blurber

While you’re in the shop, take a moment to check out the video screens. You’ll see a new feature running called The Blurber. It’s a rotating loop of quick shop tips, some dad-level humor, and random (possibly pointless) facts — all straight from me. It’s a lighthearted way to stay sharp (pun intended), and you’ll also see any important shop updatesposted there, in addition to Discord.

The weather’s finally warming up here in Wisconsin — enjoy it! But don’t forget to carve out a little time to work on your skills here at The Joinery. We’ve got the tools, the classes, and the community to help you grow.
